Determinants and Evolution of Cancer Dependencies

Our laboratory seeks to define tumor cell survival dependencies and understand how these dependencies are shaped by cell intrinsic factors, environmental factors, and drug treatments during tumor evolution. We use powerful, cutting-edge functional genomic approaches to make discoveries, then turn to classic tools from biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, and animal modeling to understand their mechanistic basis and translational implications. Our work has led to new concepts in functional tumor evolution, identified mechanism-based therapies that have progressed to the clinic, and inspired the creation of multiple successful biotechnology companies.
